Surrogacy vs. IVF

Surrogacy vs. IVF

Most of the confused intended parents choose the wrong option. They do not know what would be a better option for them: The best thing they need to do first is to choose an IVF centre wherever they are living and then decide whether surrogacy or IVF will be a better option.

Let us clarify the difference between these two.

IVF, or In-Vitro Fertilization, involves fertilization in a glass tube. This process can take several months, depending on the type of body the intended parents have. However, there are cases where IVF works successfully in the first place.

The procedure of IVF entails hormonal therapy which is given to the aspiring mother. This therapy helps develop eggs in her ovaries. After that, the woman is kept under medical observation and gets properly medicated too so that she starts producing mature eggs.

A simple process removes eggs from the female and combines them with male sperm in a laboratory. Healthy eggs and sperm are carefully preserved. Meanwhile, the inner lining of the female uterus is given hormonal therapy so that it can handle pregnancy successfully.

After careful observation, fertilized eggs or embryos are transferred using an embryo transfer procedure, and then the woman can conceive.

Surrogacy Procedure:

This process involves a close relative or a willing woman acting as a surrogate without any financial compensation, except for medical and pregnancy-related expenses. The intended couple may seek help from an eligible family member or a compassionate well-wisher.

In altruistic surrogacy, a healthy woman carries the baby on behalf of the intended mother, who is unable to conceive or carry a pregnancy. The intended mother’s eggs are fertilized (typically through IVF) and the resulting embryo is implanted into the uterus of the surrogate.

IVF Procedure:

Eggs and sperm can be taken from the donor to handle the surrogacy process. After this, a legal bond is signed between both parties (surrogate mother and intended parents). The surrogate mother carries the baby and agrees to give the baby to the original parents.

Surrogacy is Chosen When:

Surrogacy is opted for when the uterus of an aspiring mother is removed or defective. Surrogacy is opted for when the woman fails to carry a baby and has multiple miscarriages. Surrogacy is the last option available to the intended parents when they fail to conceive naturally.

IVF is Chosen When:

IVF or In-vitro fertilization is chosen when couples face fertility challenges (like low sperm count, poor egg quality, blocked fallopian tubes, and more). But the aspiring mother has a healthy uterus to carry the baby.

What to Choose?

Both IVF and surrogacy have high success rates. You only need to choose the best IVF centre in Delhi to analyse your problems thoroughly and suggest the right thing to do.

In short, if you have been facing infertility issues, there is nothing to worry about. There are thousands of couples like you who have been blessed.
